Protective strategy in the event of a nuclear and radiological accident.

The Slovenian Protective strategy in the event of a nuclear and radiological accident represents a general framework for ordering protection measures. It consists of instructions on how to determine measures related to criteria important for decision-making. It also contains instructions on which protective measures to implement together with real-time evaluation of the effectiveness of their implementation and adaptation based on actual conditions on the ground and available information. Throughout all phases of the disaster, the strategy pursues the three main goals of disaster response, namely saving lives, preventing deterministic radiation effects and reducing stochastic radiation effects. The main ultimate goal pursued after the end of the disaster is to re-establish social and economic activities in society.
