Abstract
This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, which is composed of six articles, lays down additional veterinary conditions for import of certain foodstuffs of animal origin in accordance with Council Directive 92/118/EEC laying down animal health and public health requirements governing trade in and imports into the Community of products not subject to the said requirements laid down in specific Community rules referred to in Annex A (I) to Directive 89/662/EEC and, as regards pathogens, to Directive 90/425/EEC. These provisions apply to processed animal proteins and rendered animal fat. Veterinary documents accompanying the import of processed animal protein must show that there were taken all precautions to prevent re-contamination of food and that before the shipment there were tests for salmonella and the result was negative. The official veterinarian of the border inspection station carries out tests against salmonella on any bulk shipments and randomly selected shipments of packaged or bottled food.
