Regulation on living conditions and care of wild animals kept in captivity.

This Regulation of the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food lays down living conditions and care of wild animals kept in captivity, regardles of the purpose of the containment. It is obligatory to inform the ministry responsible for nature conservation on the acquisition of animal species to which the law governing the conservation of nature applies. Living conditions are adequate if they fulfill the following conditions: (1) enough space, not limited to basic physiological, ethological and other biological needs, appropriate type, age, stage of development and adjustment of individual animals, in accordance with professional experience and scientific knowledge; (2) adequate light for day and night rhythm, temperature, humidity, ventilation, gas concentration, the relationship between liquids and gases that meets the requirements of the species and their ecotypes, age, stage of development and adaptation of animals, and minimizing the intensity of noise and other distractions; (3) separate accommodation with incompatible animals. This Regultion is composed of 13 articles divided into the following Sections: General provisions (Sec. 1); Relevant living conditions (Sec. 2); Notification (Sec. 3); Control (Sec. 4); Transitional provisions (Sec. 5). The minimum conditions to ensure adequate living conditions are set out in Annex 1.
