Abstract
The objective of this Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is composed of 19 articles and three Annexes, is to establish provisions with a view to preventing and reducing pollution caused by asbestos in the interests of the protection of human health and the environment. Thie Regulation sets out compulsory treatment of wastes containing asbestos, and other conditions to eliminate or reduce the emission of asbestos into the environment during acquisition of waste, their transport, treatment and disposal, and reporting obligations to the European Commission. For the purposes of these provisions asbestos is the common name for the fibrous silicates in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of workers from asbestos.
