Abstract
This Regulation determines the necessary phytosanitary requirements for wood packaging material used in international trade; the conditions to be met by facilities for the special after-treatment of wood packaging material and the procedure for their registration; the conditions concerning the technical, spatial, professional and organizational competence of the authority for the certification of facilities for the special after-treatment of wood packaging material; and phytosanitary and inspection supervision. When an importing country requires fulfilment of the requirements pursuant to the ISPM 15 international standard for phytosanitary measures (FAO, 2002), which regulates the phytosanitary requirements for wood packaging material in international trade, wood packaging material that is to be exported shall meet the requirements laid down in articles 4 and 5 of this text.
