Abstract
This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, which is composed of 42 articles and two Annexes, lays down the method of systematic monitoring and analyzing the state of biodiversity in livestock genetic resources, the method of international cooperation in the preservation of biodiversity in animal husbandry and conditions of the establishment and operation of gene banks and functions of gene banks for preservation of livestock breeds outside the environment where they occurred or in the environment where they occurred. This Regulation also governs the content and manner of keeping the register of state-bred procedures for calculating the level of threat and the manner of implementation of biodiversity preservation program in animal husbandry, which relates to education, training and public awareness. Preservation of biodiversity in livestock is the basis for the production of food of animal origin and maintenance of landscape diversity, a source of income for living on the farm and part of the natural and cultural heritage. The Minister responsible for livestock production regularly and continuously monitors the status of biodiversity in livestock production. The Minister is also responsible for raising awareness and informing the public on the importance and status of biodiversity in animal husbandry.
