Regulation on salt quality.

This Regulation sets out the minimum quality requirements that salt intended for human consumption and food production must meet during production and trade. The terms used in these regulations have the following meanings: salt is a mixture of sodium chloride (NaCl) and magnesium and other salts intended for the production or preparation of food and dishes for human consumption; evaporated salt is salt obtained by evaporating salt water in industrial crystallizers; table salt is evaporated, sea or rock salt to which iodine has been added; fine salt is finely crystallized or finely ground salt; rock salt is salt obtained by processing salt ore; sea salt is salt obtained by natural crystallization of salt in salt pools; unrefined sea salt is salt obtained by natural crystallization of salt in salt pools and which may contain visible impurities of natural origin as a result of crystallization and manual scraping of salt in salt pools; refined salt is salt that has been cleaned of all impurities and impurities; pre-packaged salt is salt in packaging in which it is pre-packaged in the absence of the buyer, so that the contents of the packaging cannot be changed without damaging or opening the packaging; trade is storage, wholesale and retail sale, transport, display for the purpose of sale, offering for sale and any transfer, supply or transfer of salt to a third party, whether for payment or without payment. In the production of table salt, additives may also be used, subject to technological justification, in accordance with the regulations governing additives. Salt is classified according to the method of production into: evaporated salt; rock salt; sea salt. Salt is classified according to the method of processing into: refined; unrefined.
