Regulation on the veterinary-sanitary inspection and control of food production establishments, the veterinary-sanitary checks and the conditions for good health standards for foodstuffs and raw materials of animal origin.

This Regulation determines the method of performing mandatory veterinary-sanitary inspections of animals, raw materials and foodstuffs of animal origin, the implementation of veterinary-sanitary supervision of food establishments and criteria and norms for assessing the health suitability of foodstuffs and raw materials of animal origin in production before being placed on the market for public consumption. The tasks and objectives of supervision and inspections are: protection of consumer health against zoonoses and against poisoning and other harmful consequences that can be caused by unhealthy foods of animal origin; implementation of veterinary and sanitary regulations and ongoing preventive measures to prevent the spread of infectious animal diseases and the placing on the market of health-unsuitable foods of animal origin; implementation of measures in case of violations of veterinary and sanitary regulations; implementation of measures when zoonosis, another infectious disease or suspected infectious disease is detected during animal inspection; implementation of measures upon finding that foods of animal origin are unhealthy; analyzing and evaluating other diseases on individual estates and areas, as well as other reasons that can cause economic damage, the health inadequacy of food and poorer durability of food (mature, internal diseases, damage during transport, deaths, stable deaths, etc.); implementation of measures to protect the human environment from pollution by waste and sewage from food plants/establishments; protection of animals from torture.
