Abstract
The spatial development strategy of Slovenia planned until the year 2050 sets framework conditions for achieving spatial cohesion, strengthening Slovenia's role in the processes of cross-border and international integration, and for the creation of new, multifunctional solutions for the development problems of modern society. They were defined taking into account the starting points of spatial development, key future challenges, the orientation of documents at the global and European level, and the starting points of national public policies with identified impacts on spatial development. In this sense, the are goals: strengthen the spatial efficiency of the use of resources, spatial connectivity (within the country and internationally), the competitiveness of individual areas and coherent regional development; improve spatial quality - the quality of the residential and natural environment, accessibility of housing, accessibility of services and promote social inclusion; strengthen spatial identity by strengthening local knowledge, community affiliation and vision, and by strengthening the recognition of Slovenia as a country with high quality preserved natural and cultural elements of the landscape.
