Abstract
The main purposes of creating and implementing the Slovenian Strategy for intelligent use of wood biomass for energy purposes are: 1. discouraging the use of high-quality wood for energy purposes; 2. smart – efficient use of wood of lower quality (when no longer useful for products of higher added value in the wood industry) for energy purposes; 3. improvement of air quality in areas with excesses and maintenance of air quality in other areas of the country due to the use of wood for heating buildings; 4. support for all intelligent processes of management and management of Slovenian forests under the given circumstances, including the ever-increasing negative consequences of climate change on Slovenian forests. The strategy consists of the following sections: 1. Definition of problems and analysis of the state of all key variables that have an impact on the use of wood for heating from Slovenian forests; 2. Purpose and objectives of the strategy, whereby it is explicitly emphasized that this strategy must be implemented together with other policies and programs in the field of forestry, woodworking and energy, in order to use wood for heating buildings, when the wood is previously used in to the wood industry for products with a higher added value, implemented intelligently-optimally; 3. Measures for implementing the strategy and achieving goals; 4. Circumstances for the implementation of the strategy.
