Abstract
The Strategy for Wolf (Canis lupus) conservation in Slovenia and its sustainable management sets indications aimed at conservation of the wolf (Canis lupus) in Slovenia and its sustainable management, by ensuring a favorable state of conservation of this wild animal specie on the national territory, thus contributing to the viability of related Dinaric-Balkan population. Without measures that will ensure and enable the coexistence of humans and wolves, this will not be feasible. The strategy, therefore, with its guidelines, enables the creation of a suitable human-wolf relationship and defines it as a dynamic and permanent task. In order to understand the decisions written in it, the strategy also contains a brief historical overview of the appearance of the wolf in Europe and Slovenia, presents the current state of the population and sets goals and gives guidelines in individual areas, which will be used to ensure the preservation of the wolf's favorable condition and its sustainable management.
