Abstract
The basic strategic objectives of market control authorities are to carry out effective inspection control and to contribute to the regulation of the market also through preventive actions. In order to achieve the stated goals, an annual control plan is prepared, which sets priorities in the areas of legislation for which control is in charge of individual inspectorates of the Republic of Slovenia. The annual plan is prepared on the basis of the following criteria: identified recurring irregularities in each area, the current and expected market situation, known or expected changes in legislation, received responses to the annual request of the national inspectorates to various stakeholders, proposals of the European Commission for actions of joint pan-European control and other factors. The basic strategic goal of market control authorities is to achieve the highest possible level of regulation of individual sector areas. The mission of the market control authorities is to carry out effective inspections and ensure preventive action with the aim of ensuring market order and safety, as well as the satisfaction of users, employees and the wider social community. Market surveillance authorities monitor, advise, raise awareness and assist and co-create the safe flow of products on the European Union market.
