Act No. 131/1991 on the state fund for forest improvement of the Slovak Republic.

Fund is administered by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Slovak Republic and the administration of the means is responded for by the Minister of Agriculture. Resources of the fund are the following: a) payments coming from the permanent or temporary exclusion of the lots from the forest soil fund according to a separate regulation; b) penalties imposed to legal persons according to separate provisions; c) presents and other contributions from inland and foreign legal and natural persons; d) subsidies from the state budget of the Slovak Republic; e) credits of financial institutions; f) interests of the Fund’s means; g) incomes of the Fund’s activity; h. another resources specified by the separate regulations. Means of the Fund can be used as follows: a) provision of subsidies to silviculture of forest and forest protection; b) provision of other purpose appropriations for the implementations of the programmes and actions in the interests of long-term development of the forest resources and intensification of the forest management ecologization; c) defrayment of the works of nation-wide importance; d) defrayment of the performance of the forest management planning; e) defrayment of research works for the needs of the state administration of the forest management; f) support of the joint management of forests; g) defrayment of the costs to the forest users who manage the forests of unknown owners, owners who did not apply the claim on restoration of user rights on forests, and in case of implementation of measures preventing damage, if no yield is reached ; h) defrayment of the costs on activity of the specialised forest manager designated by the bodies of the state administration of the forest management; i) other purposes related to reproduction of forest with preceding consent of the Ministry of Finance; j) means of the Fund are used for the forest resources in the Slovak republic regardless the organization form and ownership relations.
