Abstract
This Act creates conditions for the protection of plant genetic resources intended for food and agriculture and their sustainable use for the needs of human, animal and agricultural nutrition and for the maintenance of the biological diversity of plants.
The Act is composed of the following Sections: (1) General provisions; (2) Protection of plant genetic resources; (3) Collection, storage and use of plant genetic resources and related documentation; (4) Rights and obligations of legal entities and individuals concerning the protection of plant genetic resources; (5) Authorities in charge of the protection of plant genetic resources of plants; (6) Liability for violation of obligations concerning the protection of plant genetic resources; (7) Common, temporary and final provisions.
Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force on 1 July 2001.
