Abstract
The Act provides for the setting up, the development and operation of public water supply and public sewerage. It sets out rights and obligations of legal entities and individuals carrying out activities in this particular sector and also defines competences of public authorities. Public water suppy and public sewerage shall be established and operated in the public interest, in particular for the purpose of mass supplying of the public with drinking water and mass drainage of sewage. Water in public water supply must meet drinking water quality requirements unless the public health authority decides otherwise.
The present Act is composed of the following Sections: (1) Basic provisions; (2) Authorization for the operation of public water supply and public sewerage; (3) General technical requirements for water supply and public sewerage; (4) Operation of public water supply and public sewerage; (5) Public administration for water supply and public sewerage; (6) Common, transitional and final provisions.
Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force on 1 November 2002.
