Factories Act, 1974 (No. 3 of 1974).

This Act provides rules with respect to factories. Save as in this Act otherwise expressly provided, its provisions shall apply only to factories, as defined by this Act, but shall except where the contrary intention appears, apply to all such factories. Factories shall be registered. The Act provides rules for cleanliness and protection of health in factories. The Act also provides for inspections and prescribes offences.
