Abstract
Having regard to the provisions laid down at the European Community level in Directive 96/22/EC, this Decree prohibits (a) the placing on the market of stilbenes, stilbene derivatives, their salts and esters and thyrostatic substances for administering to animals of all species; (b) the placing on the market of beta-agonists for administering to animals the flesh and products which are intended for human consumption for purposes other than the administering for therapeutic purposes and for zootechnical treatment. Moreover, article 4 prohibits the use of particular substances in the aquaculture sector. The Veterinary Service shall carry out checks in order to ensure compliance with these provisions.
