Law No. 37 of 1972 on the Somali Territorial Sea and Ports.

The Act defines the territorial sea at 200 nautical miles (art. 1) and provides for the measurement of the Territorial Sea (art. 2-3). Article 4 defines Internal Waters and Maritime Ports. "Fishing in the Territorial Sea and regular transportation of persons and goods between Somali Ports are reserved for vessels flying the Somali flag, and other authorized vessels" (art. 5,1).
