Abstract
The 17 articles of this Law carry the following titles: Definitions (1); Management (2); Fishing data (3); Fishery Development (4); Prohibitions (5); Seasonal Closing Period (6); Fishing Licence General Provisions (7); Obligations of the Fisherman (8); Research (9); Control and Inspection (10); Traditional and Modern Fishing (11); Penalties (12); Powers (13); Confiscation of Property (14); Administrative Resolutions (15); Regulations (16); Repeal and Coming into Force (17).
Licences may be granted by the Minister for marine and inland fishing (art. 7). The Minister may, by written order, declare a close season for a specified area (art. 6). The Somali Navy Force shall have the powers and the responsibility for the enforcement of this Law (art. 13).
