Abstract
This Order, made under the Goods Trade Act 2003, lists goods the importation or exportation of which is prohibited or restricted or for which a permit is required. Permits shall be applied for in accordance with this Order with the External Trade Service of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The importation and exportation of goods specified in the Schedule is regulated. The list of goods the importation of which is prohibited includes pesticides as listed in the FAO negative list, chemicals and radioactive substances. Further, importation of pesticides, animal drugs and plant remedies, wild animals and plants as mentioned in CITES, specified animal products, seeds and other planting material requires a permit. Importation of other animals and plants, waste and micro-organisms shall be allowed only when a certificate for importation of these goods is released or registration has been effected. Export restrictions concern, among other things, CITES protected animals and plant and animal products. The list mentions for each measure its purpose. Importation and exportation of goods not mentioned in this Decree is free.
