Abstract
The Maritime Authority is established as a corporation under article 3 in the framework of privatization of public services. The Corporation shall be responsible for safe and efficient maritime traffic from and to Suriname in accordance with international conventions ratified by Suriname and the supervision and control on maritime navigation in accordance with laws of Suriname. The Corporation shall further render services to sea going vessels in particular with regard to exportation and importation of goods. The Corporation shall have a Board of Directors, a Supervisory Board and a Director.
