This Ministerial Order, implementing provisions of the Article IX of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora (CITES), provides for establishing a scientific authority for advising on the CITES connected matters. The Order specifies the composition of the scientific authority committee and its tasks, including: advising the CITES authority on the proposed import or export of a specimen of a species listed in the CITES appendices; supervising the issuance of documents under the CITES Convention in relation to the feeding of specimens of the species listed in Appendix II; setting and management of quotas, registration of traders and production activities; advising the CITES Management Authority on any matter relating to the protection of species listed in the Convention.
