Abstract
This Management Plan outlines the governance for the Surinamese Seabob trawl fishery, which targets the Atlantic Seabob shrimp found in coastal waters, and focus on keeping fish stocks healthy, protecting the ecosystem, and making sure the fishery meets international standards. Based on consultation with stakeholders and improvement of research and development initiatives, this Plan pillars' are: ensuring the stock status maintains high productivity, minimising impact on the ecosystem, implementing effective management, and addressing socio-economic aspects. The Plan defines strategies and actions for its implementation, including: protecting bycatch species and fishing grounds; limiting direct impact on vulnerable species; monitoring, control, and surveillance mechanism; adopting specific requirements for fishing vessels.
