Abstract
This Decree, implementing provisions of the articles 8(2), 12(6), 14(3) and 15 of the Seed Act Seed Act, 2005, provides detailed rules for seed certification and marketing; regulates labelling requirements; ensures that certified seed placed on the market meets technical standards; establishes inspection and verification mechanisms, in order to guarantee quality, traceability, and reliability of seeds entering the market. The Decree covers the following matters: functions of seed inspection service, as the central competent authority for seed control; agricultural training for seed inspectors and analysts; minimum quality standards for certified seeds; sampling procedures, packaging and handling; certification label and legal standards; labelling; sanctions.
