Decree-Law No. 07/2020 creating the Statute of the National Institute of Public Works and Urbanism (INOPU).

This Decree-Law creates the Statute of the National Institute of Public Works and Urbanism (INOPU), whose main objective is to: supervise, regulate, control, direct, supervise and sanction the infractions related to the activities of Public Works and Urbanism. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Institute, in particular entitled to perform the following activities: carry out inspection to entities in the construction sector, by supervising compliance with the legal duties; request the provision of information, elements and documents relating to companies and individual entrepreneurs, with any public entities, namely local authorities, bodies and services that comprise the tax administration and social security; request the administrative and police authorities to take necessary measures for the performance of their duties.
