Abstract
This Decree-Law aims to establish the standards rules for the preparation and distribution of iodized salt for human and animal consumption. It establishes the rules regarding the local production, import, and distribution of such salt for human and animal consumption. The rules apply throughout the national territory and concern all iodized salt produced locally, imported, and packaged, stored, transported, and sold. All salt intended for human and animal consumption must be analyzed to verify its iodine level.
