Law No. 42 of 2001 creating the General Authority for the Agricultural Scientific Researches.

This Law is composed of 31 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Article 2 decrees the establishment of the General Corp of Agricultural and Scientific Research with seat in Damascus. Article 3 specifies duties and competencies of the above-mentioned Corp. Articles 4-6 provide for the composition and management of the Corp. Articles 8-10 deal with the creation of the Consultative Committee and define its duties and competencies. Article 18 defines requirements and conditions necessary for searchers and assistant-searchers. Article 28 subjects the Consultative Committee to the provisions and rules of Law No. 32 of 1957.
