Resolution No. 11038/W of 2002 establishing the Central Committee for Afforestation.

This Resolution is composed of 4 articles. Article 1 provides for the Establishment of the Central Committee for Afforestation formed by the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation as a president, the Assistant-Minister as a Vice-President and the membership of the Director of the International Cooperation, director of Afforestation, and the Director of the Rural Engineering. The competences of the Committee are the following: preparation of the Tree-Day; study the annual production plan for afforestation; approval of the new study on ideal sites suitable for afforestation; development of the afforestation strategy of fruitful trees and reforestation trees; control the afforestation projects; approval of the importation of heavy machines necessary for afforestation; treatment and regulation of all problems and difficulties facing the reclamation operations; lay down of a new mechanism for the distribution of production incentives; control the carrying out of instructions related to food-aid; and, control the operations of the Afforestation Branches Committees. The aforementioned Committee shall control the following projects and Departments: reclamation of lands; production of layers for fruit and afforestation; breeding and development of forests; Agricultural Development Departments in the Southern, Central Region; Agricultural Development Departments in Jabal Alhess; Jabal Alwastani and Azzawiya as well as the control on tractors and drilling machines (art. 2). The Committee shall meet once every 3 months (art. 4).
