Resolution No. 1983/1 of 1965 regulating the fishing in the freshwater.

This Resolution is composed of 10 Chapters divided into 33 articles. Terms and definition (Chap. I). Fishing methods and gear (Chap. II): nets, explosives, poison and electricity (art. 2); fishing vessels (art. 3). Marketing of aquatic animals (Chap. III). Definition of fishing seasons (Chap. IV): prohibition to fish in the Syrian fresh water from 15/3 to 30/5 of every year (art. 8). Fishing license and fees (Chap. V): the Aquatic Animal Administration -Ministry of Agriculture will issue annual licence (art. 11); establishing the number of foot-fishermen, amateur fishermen and fishing vessels in every water gathering (art. 14).
