Resolution No. 316 of 1996 adopting the Standardization No. 1681 concerning the expiry dates for food as a Syrian Standardization.

This Resolution sanctions the Standardization No. 1781 for food expiry dates as a Syrian Standardization and Metrology. Rules and provisions of Law No. 158 of 1960 on fraud, deceit and adulteration will be applied to transgressors. The Ministries of Industry, Supply and Internal Trade and of Economy and External Trade will monitor on the application of this Resolution. Expiry dates for meat, fish, milk, ice cream, butter, yoghurt, cheese, vegetable oils, margarine, canned vegetables and fruits, frozen vegetables and fruits, fruit juices, dried fruits, pickles, sweets, beverages, potable water, mineral water, soup and vegetable soup, child's food, macaroni, coffee, tea, spices, medicinal herbs, almonds and nuts are indicated in the attached list.
