Abstract
This Act provides for the control and supervision of public enterprises and establishes in the Ministry of Finance a Public Enterprises Unit. The Unit shall advise responsible ministers and the Cabinet Standing Committee on Public Enterprise and assist in the discharge of the functions conferred on them by this Act. The Act makes a distinction between category "A" enterprises (wholly state-owned) and category "B" enterprises (minority interest). These enterprises are set out in the Schedule. The Unit shall carry out certain control functions in respect of category "A" enterprises. This category includes the National Agricultural Marketing Board, the Swaziland Cotton Board, the Swaziland Dairy Board and the Water and Sewerage Board. The Act also establishes a Disciplinary Tribunal. The Minister may by notice published in the Gazette amend the Schedule to this Act.
