Abstract
The Stock Diseases Regulations, 2016 outline measures to control rabies in designated areas. These regulations mandate the isolation and confinement of dogs and cats within specified guard areas to prevent their escape. Pet owners in these areas must present their animals for vaccination at designated centers and times. Non-compliance with these regulations can result in fines or imprisonment. Additionally, government veterinary officers are authorized to destroy any unconfined animals in these areas, with assistance from the Royal Eswatini Police if necessary.
