Abstract
This Act, consisting of 35 Sections, makes provisions on cruelty prevention and welfare of animal.
This Act establishes a Committee on Cruelty Prevention and Welfare of Animal. The Committee is empowered to propose to the Minister, a policy, plan, measure, and guideline which raise awareness of the cruelty prevention and welfare provision of animal, and to propose to the Minister, an opinion to revise the law on cruelty prevention and welfare provision of animals. The Act further provides for the establishment of animal welfare organisations, an animal aid centre and the registration thereof. It is forbidden to perform any act of cruelty to animal without justification. An animal owner shall provide proper welfare to his or her animal in accordance with rules, procedures, and conditions prescribed by the Minister.
In addition, the Act provides for the measures for supervision and inspection, offences and penalties, etc.
