Abstract
This Act amends the Energy Conservation Promotion Act, B.E. 2535 (1992).
Amendments include: replacement of section 6 with a new section on ministries responsible for the implementation of the Act; replacement of section 9 with a new section dealing with powers of the Minster to issue Ministerial Regulations; replacement of sections 19 and 21 with new sections on the conservation of energy in buildings; replacement of Division 3, section 23 with new provisions on energy conservation in machinery or equipment and promotion of the use of energy-efficient materials and equipment; replacement of section 24 with a new section and addition of a new section 24/1 on the Energy Conservation Promotion Fund; replacement of sections 27, 34 and 38 with new sections and addition of new sections 34/1 and 34/2 on the Fund Committee; replacement of sections 42 and 46 with new sections on surcharges for the use of electricity; addition of new sections 48/1, 48/2, 48/3 and 48/4 on powers and duties of competent officers; replacement of sections 55 and 56 with new sections concerning penalties; minor changes to sections 4 (3) and 47; and revocation of sections 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 22 and 57.
