Ministerial Regulation on the Organizational Division of Department of Water Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment B.E. 2565 (2022).

This Regulation of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, made under the State Administration Act, specifies the functions and organization of the Department of Water Resources. The Department shall have mission on water resources development, management, maintenance, restoration and conservation as well as water allocation, water use, prevention and mitigation of damages caused by water resources, which will be beneficial to public utility services and other public benefits, with the following duties and authorities: (1) Carry out water resources development, management, maintenance, improvement, restoration and conservation, water allocation, water use as well as prevention of and solving water-related problems according to water resources laws and other related laws; (2) regulate, supervise and recommend measures, criteria, and methods for public water resources and wetland conservation and development; (3) inspect, regulate and supervise public water resources use and water supply concessions as required by law; (4) carry out research for public water resources development, conservation, restoration, allocation and utilization;(5) develop water resources database systems and information networks, (6) determine or suggest improvement or amendment of legislation; (7) Promote, support and give advice on techniques, standards and rules related to water resources management to government agencies, local administrative organizations and other relevant sectors; (8) Perform any other tasks as required by law or as assigned by the Minister or the Cabinet.
