Abstract
This Ministerial Regulation is formulated in accordance with the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act B.E. 2562.
The Ministerial Regulation provides for the procedures and requirements for obtaining permits or certificates for the import and export of wildlife, wildlife carcasses, or products derived from them. It repeals the previous B.E. 2562 (2015) Ministerial Regulation and introduces updated definitions, electronic application processes, and specific submission locations depending on the type of wildlife. The Ministerial Regulation also details the qualifications and disqualifications for applicants, especially for those involved in zoo operations, and mandates thorough documentation and legal compliance for all applications.
The Ministerial Regulation emphasizes the importance of legal sourcing, species conservation status, and animal welfare during transport. It sets a 180-day validity for most permits and certificates, with a 90-day validity for aquatic animal certificates.
