Abstract
This Ministerial Regulation is formulated in accordance with the Act on the Protection and Promotion of Traditional Thai Medical Knowledge B.E. 2542 (1999) .
Anyone who wishes to manage a protected area for herbs or utilize herbs shall obtain a license. The Ministerial Regulation provides for the procedures for obtaining permission to manage or utilize protected herbal areas. It outlines the application process, required documents, and qualifications, emphasizing that applicants must be Thai nationals with expertise in herbal medicine. The Ministerial Regulation mandates submission of detailed plans, maps, and proposals for sustainable use or restoration of herbal resources. Authorities must verify the completeness of applications and respond within 45 days. License holders are required to report their activities at least once during the license period and within 60 days after its expiration, including details on the types of herbs used, management outcomes, and replanting efforts. The Regulation also covers license renewal, replacement in case of loss or damage.
