Abstract
This Act is enacted for the establishment of the National Economic and Social Development Council.
The Council's duties and powers include: ( 1 ) Set the directions of the country's economic and social development in accordance with the national strategy, and the economic and social conditions of the country and the world; ( 2 ) Prepare a draft national economic and social development plan; ( 3 ) Provide suggestions, advices, and opinions regarding driving social and economic development according to the National Economic and Social Development Plan, including amendments or improvements to laws, rules or regulations that affect economic and social development in various areas to the Prime Minister or the Cabinet; etc. There shall be a National Economic and Social Development Plan as a guideline for the continuous economic and social development of the country in each five-year period. The promulgation of the National Economic and Social Development Plan shall be made in the form of a Royal Decree.
