The National Health Act B.E. 2550 establishes a legal framework for health promotion and protection in Thailand. It defines health as a holistic state of physical, mental, intellectual, and social well-being and introduces the National Health Commission to oversee health policies and strategies. The legislation also creates the National Health Office to support the Commission's administrative and operational tasks. It mandates the development of a National Health Constitution to guide health policies and requires regular national health assemblies to encourage public engagement. The Act emphasizes public participation through health assemblies and outlines rights and duties related to health, including access to a healthy environment and protection of personal health data.
