Abstract
The Act is divided in: Chapter I,Plant Variety Protection Commission; Chapter II, Plant Varieties; Chapter III, Protection of New Plant Varieties; Chapter IV, Protection of Local Domestic Plant Varieties; Chapter V, Protection of General Domestic Plant Varieties and Wild Plant Varieties; Chapter VI, Plant Varieties Protection Fund; Chapter VII, Protection of Rights of Right Holders of Plant Varieties; Chapter VIII, Penalties.
The Act provides for the protection of new plant varieties, characterized by their uniformity, stability and distinction, instituting the Plant Variety Protection Commission, complete with a special lly-funded budget in order to carry all its functions and tasks. New plant varieties must be registered and certificated and the their intellectual property garanteed to the breeders.
