Government Decree No. 52 validating Complex Program for the Development of Livestock, Poultry, Fishing and Beekeeping in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2027.

A Complex Program for the Development of Livestock, Poultry, Fishing and Beekeeping in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2027 was elaborated for the further development of the livestock, poultry, fishfarming, beekeeping and animal biotechnology industries, increasing productivity, increasing the number of livestock and production of products of these sectors, providing the population with meat, milk, eggs, fish and honey. The livestock, poultry, fisheries and beekeeping industries are the main sources of meat, milk, eggs, fish and honey, and their development helps ensure the country's food security and create new jobs. Ensuring the development of the livestock, poultry, fishing and beekeeping sectors of the national economy is carried out within the framework of measures to organize and conduct selection and breeding work, improve breeding technology and feeding standards for animals, poultry, fish, and bees using the achievements of the modern era.
The main goals of the Program are to increase the production of meat, milk, eggs, honey and fish using modern technologies, create new livestock farms to increase the productivity and efficiency of animals, poultry, fish and bees, provide the population with environmentally friendly foodstuffs, create a genetic fund of species and breeds animals, creating new jobs and generally ensuring the country's food security.
In order to implement the Program, it is important to solve the following tasks: (a) creation of livestock farms, poultry enterprises, fish farms and thereby the creation of new jobs; (b) increasing the number of breeding livestock, their pedigree, organizing artificial insemination points and timely providing them with the necessary materials; (c) arrangements in the horse breeding industry, including horse racing, in order to identify the best types of Tajik breed horses and promoting the participation of Tajik thoroughbred horses in international events; (d) increasing the number of yaks in all forms of farming, organizing dekhkan yak farms, especially in high mountain areas, favorable for keeping yaks; (e) creation of new poultry enterprises for raising parent chickens for egg and meat production and, on this basis, increasing the production of hatching eggs and day-old chicks within the republic to meet the needs of poultry enterprises; (f) increasing domestic production of compound feed and meeting the needs of the industry with compound feed; (g) creation of fishing workshops, improving the functioning of existing workshops and increasing the production of larvae and fry within the republic; (h) creation of new trout farms, annual increase in trout production and further establishment of its export outside the country; (i) increasing the production of fish feed and meeting the needs of farms, especially trout farms, with compound feed; (j) import of purebred queen bees from abroad and, on this basis, improvement of the purebred qualities of honey bees grown in the republic; (k) increasing the productivity of bee colonies and thereby increasing the volume of honey production; (l) use of selection, breeding and biotechnological methods to preserve and strengthen national genetic species and breeds of animals raised in the country; and (m) development of investment projects in order to attract domestic and foreign investment.
