Government Decree No. 71 validating the Regulation on Scientific and Fishery Council for Fish Farming, Fisheries and the Protection of Fish Resources.

The Scientific and Fisheries Council for Fish Farming, Fisheries and the Protection of Fish Resources was constituted in order to develop recommendations on the use and protection of fish resources, proposals for organizing industrial fishing, exploitation of waterbodies of the Republic of Tajikistan for fishing together with research institutions and the authorized state body in the field of environmental protection. The Council includes representatives of ministries and departments involved in the process of regulating and ensuring the production of fishfarming products, fisheries and the protection of fish resources. Responsibilities of the Council; (a) coordination and monitoring of the process of implementing activities in the field of fishfarming, fishing and protection of fish resources in the waterbodies of the Republic of Tajikistan; (b) collection, synthesis and analysis of proposals and requests from relevant ministries and departments of the Republic of Tajikistan, other organizations on issues of fishfarming, fishing and protection of fish resources; (c) approval of the annual work plan of the Council; and (d) submission of a report to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the results of the Council’s activities in the field of fish farming, fishing and protection of fish resources in natural reservoirs.
