Governmental Decree No. 102 validating the Concept of improved school nutrition in general educational institutions.

This Concept establishes the objectives, main directions, goals and mechanisms of implementation of the state policy in the sphere of school nutrition. This Concept shall be the basis for elaboration and realization of the arrangements for the promotion of school nutrition with a view of provision of students with healthy nutrition for the purpose of promotion of educational potential, ensuring food security of the country, improvement of well-being of the population and socio-economic growth of the country. In spite of the intensive agricultural development the country continues to import considerable amount of foodstuffs, including ingredients for school nutrition. Actually even though school nutrition is not classified as a separate direction of the national policy, yet its legal framework is sustainable. School nutrition program shall be based upon quality, quantity and diversity of nutrition thus contributing to improvement of students’ health.
