Governmental Decree No. 123 validating the National Ecological Program for 2009 2019.

National Ecological Program shall be basic state document defining the main directions of sustainable development of society, maintaining balance between natural resources and users, organization and coordination of relations between users of natural resources and the nature, rational use of natural resources and restoration of the destroyed ecological balance. National Ecological Program shall be implemented through the following arrangements: (a) involvement of state, social and private organizations into the process of improvement of the country s ecological balance; (b) ecological education of the population; (c) prevention of soil erosion; (d) prevention of the use of agricultural land for low-yielding crops; (e) extension of forested areas; (f) atmospheric air protection; (g) gradual introduction of ecofriendly processes and methods; (h) introduction of low-waste technologies; (i) reduction of emissions; (j) financing of ecological programs; and (k) creation of ecofriendly recreational environment for the benefit of public health improvement.
