Governmental Decree No. 326 validating the Program for implementation of the national concept on the rehabilitation of tailing dumps of waste of uranium ores for the period of 2016-2024.

The objectives of the Program for implementation of the national concept on the rehabilitation of tailing dumps of waste of uranium ores for the period of 2016-2024 shall be to ensure the safety of the population and the protection of the environment in the zone of influence of the heritage objects of uranium production and to create conditions for sustainable economic development of areas where uranium heritage objects are located. The main tasks shall be as follows: (a) improvement and coordination of the legislative and regulatory framework for the management, safety and rehabilitation of uranium heritage sites; (b) optimization and establishment of national criteria for ensuring safety and effective implementation of rehabilitation measures; (c) development of requirements and licensing conditions; (d) the introduction of rules for international examination; (e) improvement of procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of the activities carried out; and (f) management of monitoring and supervisory data. The goal of the Program shall be to ensure radiation safety of the national territory as integral part of the national security.
