Governmental Decree No. 372 validating the Regulation on State Phytosanitary and Plant Quarantine Service.

State Phytosanitary and Plant Quarantine Service shall be state executive body ensuring state control in the sphere of phytosanitary and plant quarantine on the national territory. State Phytosanitary and Plant Quarantine Service shall have the following competence: (a) - control and regulation of activities in the field of phytosanitary and plant quarantine; (b) quarantine inspection and laboratory examination of imported and exported plant products and other materials, including plant species sent in mailing enclosures and in hand luggage of passengers; (c) rehabilitation plant products that have passed quarantine disinfection and other materials as well as vehicles arriving from other states and from zones of the national territory declared under quarantine; (d) timely detection of quarantine pests, plant diseases and weeds, inspection and examination of agricultural, forest to other lands, storage facilities for processing of plant products; (e) establishment of quarantine zones on the national territory; (f) monitoring of the activities of quarantine nurseries, variety test plots and greenhouses performing quarantine inspection of the state of seeds and plants imported from other states, as well as from zones declared under quarantine on the national territory; and (g) revision and approval of the list of pests, plant diseases and weeds of quarantine importance for the state, to which are applicable plant quarantine measures.
