Governmental Decree No. 542 validating the Regulation on formation and management of ecological information resources.

This Regulation establishes the procedure for the formation and maintenance of state environmental information resources and regulates the process of formation and maintenance of state environmental information resources assigned to government bodies, state organizations, commercial enterprises, public associations and individuals. Formation and maintenance of state environmental and information resources shall be performed by the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, which develops and implements measures for the centralized collection, recording, storage and use of environmental information. Information submitted to the Committee shall pass official acceptance, registration, classification, and also systematization and preparation for submittal to the relevant bodies and organizations and its use by the relevant departments. Environmental information resources of the Republic of Tajikistan shall be considered state information resources and are formed with the aim of implementing state policy in the field of environmental protection, ensuring the exchange of information between authorities.
