Law No. 1937 amending Law No. 354 on wildlife.

Article 4 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Wild fauna, by its type and purpose, is classified into the following categories: (a) rare and endangered animal species; (b) species of animals that are the object of hunting (game); (c) species of animals that are the object of fishing; (d) species of animals used for economic purposes (except hunting and fishing); (e) animal species not used for economic purposes, but having ecological, cultural and scientific value; (f) animal species whose numbers are subject to regulation in order to protect public health, prevent diseases of domestic and farm animals, and prevent damage to the environment, preventing the danger of causing significant damage to agricultural activities". Article 16 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Hunting for wild animals and birds by natural persons who have the status of a hunter is carried out within the established norms in the manner established by this Law and the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan”. Article 30 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Activities to identify species, record and regulate the number of wildlife species are carried out by authorized government bodies with the involvement of relevant scientific institutions and other interested organizations and public associations”. Article 39 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Rare and endangered animal species are included in the Red Book of the Republic of Tajikistan. The regulations on the Red Book of the Republic of Tajikistan are approved by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan”.
