Ministerial Decree No. 336 regarding the sphere of competence of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Ministry of Agriculture is the state administrative institution entitled to elaborate and carry out common state agricultural policy. Agricultural standards, regulations, instructions, norms and normative acts elaborated and validated by the Ministry in accordance with the established modalities are obligatory for implementation by all the ministries (departments), local executive bodies, enterprises and organizations that carry out activity in the agricultural sector. The main tasks of the Ministry are: a) organization of elaboration and realization of common state agricultural policy, including policy in the field of plant growing, stock breeding and other branches of the agricultural sector, elaboration of programs and plans of reformation, ensuring efficient utilization of the country’s agricultural potential; b) organization of the monitoring of production and profitability of agricultural production; c) organization of control over import, export, processing, transformation, storage, trade and transactions of the agricultural commodities; d) elaboration of proposals regarding selection activity, seed growing and pedigree stock breeding.
