Ministerial Decree No. 530 validating the Regulation on the state pedigree farm and enterprises for biotechnological reproduction of livestock and poultry.

The state pedigree farm and enterprises for biotechnological reproduction of livestock and poultry shall be considered agricultural enterprises producing pedigree animals and poultry of the determined areal breed ensuring high productivity and indices and high reproduction rate, and also complying with the requirements set for pedigree farms. The main tasks of the state pedigree enterprises shall be: a) improvement of pedigree and productive qualities of pedigree livestock and poultry; b) the fulfilment of state tasks set for growing pedigree cattle and poultry; c) improvement of agricultural production by means of more efficient utilization of matrix herds; d) reproduction of imported pedigree livestock and poultry. The main functions of the state pedigree enterprises shall be: a) profound selection and pedigree activity as regards existing pedigree livestock and poultry; b) determination of the perspective breeds of livestock and poultry capable of revealing the potential genetic productive qualities; c) annual evaluation of livestock and poultry.
